OML received funding for the duration of 5 years from 2019 – 2023. It was funded by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (Federal Ministry of Education and Research). Partners were the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg.

The scientific results within OML have led to a variety of exploitation, both for science, for new projects and for business. OML team members are part of projects, that further transfer the solutions (e.g. EU-project Meetween, 2024-2027, KiKIT, 2023-2025). The OML team has furthermore applied for a variety of new projects (e.g. Marie-Curie Doctoral Networks,…) and we could establish economic cooperation (e.g. with ZOOM Communications, SAP, Amazon,…).
